The desert’s stillness and magical nights have always called to me. This piece invites stillness. Like a desert night, it doesn’t reveal itself all at once, you have to pause, let your eyes adjust, and allow the sky to open up to you. The stars rendered as abstract circles, shimmer and pulse across a deep gradient sky. The larger ones almost seem to breathe. It’s a quiet rhythm, like a heartbeat in silence.
As the light reveals itself across the owl and cactus, and as the colors deepen with layered glazes, the scene becomes less about what you see and more about what you feel.
